WELCOME TO JULY!
THIS IS THE MONTH THE TONE OF OUR YEAR CHANGES–ESPECIALLY FOR THE CARDINAL SIGNS, PARTICULARLY ARIES AND LIBRA. THINK OF THIS MONTH LIKE A LIFE FACELIFT. ON TOP OF A MAJOR NODAL SHIFT LED BY PASSIONATE ARIES JUMPSTARTED BY A SQUARE TO PLUTO AT THE ANARETIC DEGREE (29), WE ALSO GET THE FIRST VENUS RX SINCE 2021, AND MAJOR MOONS IN CAPRICORN AND CANCER. I LOVE THAT THIS MONTH ALSO HAS STEADY VIRGO ENERGY TOO THOUGH. SO WHILE THINGS ARE DEFINITELY HEATING UP AND NEW HORIZONS ARE PRESENTING THEMSELVES, VIRGO IS HELPING US ANALYZE AND ORGANIZE IT ALL LOGICALLY. JUST DON’T GET SOOO CAUGHT UP IN THE LOGIC AND BEING OBJECTIVE THAT YOU FORGET TO FOLLOW YOUR HEART AND LIVE IN THE NOW. BECAUSE EVEN VIRGO WOULD AGREE THAT IS WHERE THE ANSWERS YOU’RE LOOKING FOR WILL BE FOUND AND MORE IMPORTANTLY EVERYTHING ELSE WILL PRESENT THAT OPPORTUNITY WITHOUT ANOTHER OPTION ANYWAYS. TAKE IT FROM AN ARIES SUN–WE’RE JUST FUN LIKE THAT.

July 1st, 2023 – Neptune Goes Retrograde
On July 1st, 2023 Neptune goes retrograde at 27° Pisces.
Neptune retrograding is an opportunity to see things a bit more clearly where they may have otherwise been fuzzy. Dreams may become more detailed or realistic, intentions become more clarified. This is the perfect time to take stock of what is occurring where 27 degrees Pisces is for you and check in with how you’re feeling about the direction it’s taking and whether it supports your dreams and desires or not.
July 3rd, 2023 – Full Moon In Capricorn
On July 3rd, 2023 we have a Full Moon at 11° Capricorn.
This is a trine Jupiter, opposite Mercury, and sextile Saturn.
This is a VERY positive full moon! This moon is in what’s called a “cradle” configuration in astrology. Cradles can feel supportive and optimistic while also keeping us suspended. So pay attention to what comes through with a light hold, some things may become manifest on or around this day while others may be glimpses into what’s to come and will evolve over time.
July 10th, 2023 – Mars Enters Virgo
On July 10th, 2023 Mars enters Virgo.
Mars has moved out of fiery passionate Leo and into industrious Virgo. This is the PERFECT time to start or finish any projects whether that is your health, your finances, that assignment, organize the cupboard etc. Look to where Virgo is in your own chart to see what is getting the boost over the next few weeks.
July 11th, 2023 – Mercury Enters Leo
On July 11th, 2023 Mercury enters Leo.
Mercury loves to be loud, proud, and bold in Leo. Here our communication is much more grand, maybe even exaggerated. Take it from someone who learned this BIG time last year–things can definitely be blown out of proportion communication wise during this transit whether for better or worse, so don’t forget to be a little more discerning and take a second to breathe while processing if your pride tends to get the better of you.
On the upside this has us thinking more creatively and artistically, it’s an especially good time for expressing yourself whether through art or music or performance.
June 11th, 2023 - Mercury Enters Gemini
On June 11th, 2023, Mercury enters Gemini.
In Gemini, Mercury is in its domicile so it’s very happy being at home. Here we are better able to communicate ideas and execute plans. This is a GREAT transit for learning or teaching, doing research, writing, and masterminding with others.
July 17th, 2023 – North Node Enters Aries, South Node enters Libra
On July 17th, 2023 the Lunar Nodes switch signs. The North Node leaves Taurus and moves into Aries, and the South Node leaves Scorpio and moves into Libra.
This is a BIG freaking deal! The nodes of fate have changed and it is Aries and Libras (Cancers and Capricorns as well) turn at a total life transformation. First a round of applause for the fixed signs but specifically Taurus and Scorpio for their last 1.5 years of evolution! Especially during a time when the fixed signs were going through some more difficult transits.
Now we are shifting into embracing ARIES energy and releasing LIBRA energy with the North and South Nodes, respectively. This means we are moving from the access of “physical/metaphysical” in Taurus/Scorpio to “me/the other” in Aries/Libra.
With a focus on Aries specifically we as a collective will be looking at the “I am” of it all. As an Aries Sun and 10th house I know this energy better than most. The thing I love MOST about Aries is how we light a fire under our own ass. Aries is a sign full of vigor and passion and a sense of not backing down or backing out. This will be a time for all of us where we explore our individuality, sovereignty, and healthy fighting spirit even more while releasing a need for codependency, relationships, and aesthetics to justify our existence.
July 17th, 2023 – New Moon In Cancer
On July 17th, 2023 we have a New Moon at 24° Cancer. The New Moon is trine Neptune (at 27° Pisces), sextile Uranus (22° Taurus), and opposite Pluto in Capricorn.
This moon will bring up themes of love versus power struggles. And, as I like to think of Pluto in all of this where we are taking back our power as we heal and evolve more deeply and progressively. With a trine to Neptune and sextile to Uranus there is an element of divine intervention and surprise with this moon–stay open.
July 22nd, 2023 – Sun Enters Leo

July 22nd, 2023 – Venus Goes Retrograde
On July 22nd, 2023 Venus goes retrograde at 28° Leo.
This is one of the most notable transits of the year and one we’ve already started before it even begins. Venus rx’s happen every 1.5 years so it’s important when they do. The last time we had one in Leo was 2015 so you can think back to that summer to see if similar themes are popping up.
In rx Venus brings around what was left behind before. Often this is something like money owed to us or that we’ve worked for and not received, a relationship to revisit, beauty plans to amend, and our understanding of love in the world to review.
This can also be an incredible time to go within in the processing of our values. Rx’s are about looking inward and completing cycles–maybe progressed by external events–so take it slow and really savour this 40 day and 40 night process.
July 23rd, 2023 – Chiron Goes Retrograde
On July 23rd, 2023, Chiron, the wounded/golden healer goes retrograde at 19° Aries.
When Chiron retrogrades it’s a time for deeper healing in what it just went over. Often external events will present themselves while Chiron is direct to promote healing but the rx is like sweeping back through that same spot to polish what you missed before. I particularly love using this time to look at things from different angles, forgive more deeply/again where appropriate, and maybe even excavate something more than I did the first time.
Look to where 19 degrees Aries is to see where Chiron is trying to help you integrate and embody the lessons you’ve learned.
July 25th, 2023 – Pluto Square The Lunar Nodes
On July 25th, 2023, Pluto (at 29° Capricorn) squares the North Node (at 29° Aries) and South Node (at 29° Libra).
This moment is particularly important as it kick starts the Aries/Libra nodal transit and sets the tone for what themes may come up over the next 1.5 years. With Pluto especially this is bound to bring up deeper generational healing and BIG collective conversations versus simply individual. Even if you experience it personally remember that the personal is ALWAYS the political and zoom out to see the bigger picture.
This is a major moment for evolution in society and something will have to give to progress forward in the direction of Aries.
July 28th, 2023 – Mercury Enters Virgo
On July 28th, 2023 Mercury enters Virgo.
Mercury LOVES being in Virgo! Here Mercury is able to do what Mercury does best which is organize, analyze, and process any and all data and information flowing through your head, out your mouth, and onto a page.
This is an especially good time while Mars is also in Virgo to put that industrious, detail oriented side to work and get any ducks you need to in a row or see a situation more objectively.
